Jennifer Hudson Weight Loss
Are we sending mixed messages to people about weight?
People make such a big fuss about skinny models, yet at the same time childhood obesity is on the rise. People say things like “Jessica Simpson is fat” “full figured women are beautiful” “I like a girl with curves” Someone like Jennifer Hudson isn’t skinny but someone might think if Britney Spears gains 5 pounds she’s a heifer. Why do we have different opinions for different people? We should accept or not certain people when they’re fat and too skinny? See how confusing this is. Do you think it’s sending mixed messages? Not to mention Weight Loss commercials on 24/7 Then we have Dove commercials that say we should accept ourselves for who we are and Monique’s show Living Large saying “big is beautiful”
People should stop worrying so much about how they look and worry more about their health. Health is all that really matters. You have no obligation to look attractive for anyone save perhaps for your spouse. You do have a responsibility to both yourself and society in general to avoid obesity. We know that obesity increases the chances of suffering from a bunch of different diseases and other health problems. Focusing on appearance diverts focus from this. These “fat acceptance” people are not helping the obese, just as telling a junkie that it is OK to shoot heroin is not helping them. Also, people with some muscle tone under their fat tend to be curvy. People with no muscle tone under their flab are not curvy at all. Round and curvy are not synonymous.
